Yankees Complete Comeback to Advance to ALCS

The New York Yankees came back from a 2-0 series deficit to advance to the ALCS by beating the Cleveland Indians, 5-2, on Wednesday night at Progressive Field.

Shortstop Didi Gregorius hit two home runs and Brett Gardner had an epic at-bat in the ninth inning that resulted in a single to bring in another run, and a misplay on the relay throw brought in another.

CC Sabathia went 4.1 innings and then the Yankees bullpen took over once again with David Robertson throwing 2.2 innings and Aroldis Chapman closing it out in the eighth and ninth innings.

It was the second straight year that the Indians blew a two-game lead in a series. They blew a 3-1 lead in the World Series last year to the Chicago Cubs.

The Yankees will travel to Houston to take on the Astros in the ALCS. Dallas Keuchel will be the starter for Houston in Game 1 while Sonny Gray is expected to throw Game 1 for the Yankees.
