Reports came out on Thursday that the Miami Marlins are interested in trading Giancarlo Stanton to the Cardinals and not the Red Sox. Why? Because the Cardinals are flush with prospects, especially on the pitching side.
The Red Sox don’t have many prospects worth dealing and they really don’t have any on the pitching side. So because the team doesn’t have prospects, and because they aren’t in a position to trade off their Major League roster, they probably aren’t in a position to get Stanton, according to Brady Farkas.
Brady outlined the need for the Red Sox to continue to invest in their farm system on ‘Champlain Valley Game Night.’
