A.J. comes to Burlington from Salem, VA, where he worked as a radio play-by-play broadcaster for the Salem Red Sox (Class A Advanced Boston Red Sox).
Born in Framingham and raised in Andover, A.J. proudly sticks to his Massachusetts roots by supporting the Red Sox, Patriots, Celtics, and Bruins.
He spent his college days at Syracuse University, where he graduated in 2013 with a degree in broadcast journalism. At ‘Cuse, A.J. broadcast SU basketball (including the team’s 2013 run to the Final Four), football (including the 2012 Pinstripe Bowl at Yankee Stadium), and lacrosse.
Rich grew up in Boston and was raised in a die-hard Boston sports family, including his Mom. He spent most of his weekends in the bleachers at Fenway or in the upper deck of the old Boston Garden with his dad, and was a standout baseball, basketball, and football player in high school.
He came to Vermont for college and graduated from Lyndon State in 1986. He has spent the past 25 years working in Vermont radio. He was a morning show co-host on Champ 101.3 and spent nine years as the News and Sports Director of WDEV in Waterbury before returning to Champ. He started working for 101.3 ESPN in January of 2011 and serves as the morning Sportscenter anchor in addition to co-hosting the A.J. & Rich Show.
His hobbies include marathons, he has run more than 20 of them, road trips and concerts.
Here's a pic of them trying to look bad. Ya, we don't think they're pulling it off either!
